I went to see Motley Crue last night in Manchester at the Apollo. After a quiet drive across the Pennines on the M62 I managed to miss my turning off the Manchester Inner Ring Road and went on a 10 minute detour around Levenshulme (not recommended when you're in a hurry).
The concert was great and as I was out, I was allowed to break my no beer diet and had two 500ml cans of Carling. Not a lot considering I'd eaten a load of Ginsters products and then spent two hours bouncing around to one of my wife's favourite bands from the 80s/90s.
I paid the price on going to the gym tonight though as I could only manage a run of 3m45s at 10Km/h, 12 minutes on the cross trainer at level 13/25 and 4m25s on the bike. I did less then two minutes on the rower but then expanded my repetoire by doing some weights. Just a few tricep and bicep workouts but I was shocked to note I could only manage 50% of weight I used to train with. I finished with a short cycle of sit ups but I was exhausted and didn't feel like I'd done a full workout. This was confirmed by my workout download on the tracking system used by the gym.
So I felt a little deflated but I decided to weigh myself and to my pleasant surprise I had lost 1Kg since last Thursday! I realise this is just the start of the weight reduction and I've a long way to go to get down to my target weight. I haven't really set one yet but I think that 90Kg is a nice figure (around 14st 4lb) and would represent a 22Kg weight loss. Losing weight at this rate means Christmas is going to be the time for big celebration. The true driver though is my ability to manage 2600m in 12m next March, so the weight will go lower if necessary
