Alcohol is bad when training

OK, I went out on Saturday with my wife. It's been a little while since we had a good old fashioned drunken night out and this one was a good one.

We visited Bedford, where my wife did most of her growing up and we had a wild night but it came to a disappointing end as our two year old was having a mild asthma attack when we arrived home. He was ok by morning but we didn't get much sleep so we both spent Sunday like zombies. The sleep hangover carried on until today and I had some doubts about training tonight but worked out anyway with an unusual result.

The heart monitor I use should have a big flashing light which says "Press the start button" as once more I missed out some of my programme by forgeting to press Start. In fact it was 2m at 14km/h running and another 2m at 10km/h running. Anyway I still managed another 3m at 10km/h followed by 1m at 6km/h, 1m30s at 11km/h, 1m at 6km/h and 1m30s at 12.5km/h before I gave up feeling very tired.

On the cross trainer I did 4m forwards, 4m backwards, 3m forwards, 3m backwards, 2m forwards and 2m backwards at level 13/25.

Result
Duration 28m30s
Max heart rate 162 (92%)
Avg heart rate 149 (84%)
Calories expended 406
Fat burn 30%
And all that with a missing 4 m of running!

On to the weights

40 bicep curls on 22.5Kg

42 standing rows on 22.5Kg

45 tricep pulldowns on 22.5Kg

3x15 reps at 50Kg on the thigh abductor

3x15 reps at 50Kg on the hip abductor

105 advanced sit-ups

15 back curls

3x15 reps at 110kg on the leg press

9 reps at 40kg and 6 reps at 25kg on the chest press but a five year old injury flared up an I gave it up as a bad job.

Result
Duration 44m
Max heart rate 162 (92%)
Avg heart rate 132 (75%)
Calories expended 505
Fat burn 45%

Total Results
Duration 1h12m30s
Max heart rate 162 (92%)
Avg heart rate 139 (79%)
Calories expended 911
Fat burn 39%

So the first session back after a big night out and I burn an amazing 911 calories - I'm impressed - even without the missing 4m running! I have two more sessions lined up this week and then a 2 day tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The results from that will be interesting!
