New Phase

Having decided to reduce the number of Sunday League games I take on, I turned down an easy run out this morning for a trip to the training ground of Leeds United, MY TEAM!

I was invited by the Secretary of the District FA to help out by mentoring some referees officiating in games between Leeds and Everton being played at Thorp Arch. I'm not sure what to expect, I think it's going to be a like a less demanding version of assessing. I have two referees to watch so I hope I can help them both with their development.

Speaking of assessments I was out yesterday in the wind and rain watching a promotion candidate from our area. He seemed to do fine in a match which had the potential to become a very challenging contest. I'll be spending this evening turning my notes into a structured assessment to help him in his progress. I'll also get around to posting some of what is involved in producing an assessment ... hiding in trees is not a viable option (in joke there!).
