Euro 2008 - 27

This game was very, very edgy throughout the 90 minutes and the Russian team, under the tutelage of Dutchman, Guus Hiddink, took a lead in the second half which looked secure until RvN stole in at the back post on a free kick from the left with only 5 minutes left to play, which took the game to Extra Time.

I couldn't watch Extra Time (Mrs Baldy was getting very twitchy) but I understand Russia scored two goals to take the game and the place in the semi finals against the winner of Spain and Italy game, which is being played tomorrow evening. I think I should go work for a tv station ... so far I have predicted the winners of each of the Quarter finals ... well that's not strictly true. I have forecast the team which I thought would win ... and they promptly lost!

Holland 1 - 3 Russia
