Training XXII

After the exertions of burning over 7500 calories and spending something like 10 hours on the field over three days I needed a recovery session at training last night.

CE was at home baking with his nephews, Titfer and Fat Lad had games so it was left to Zico and I to carry the torch. After the usual lap of the field to loosen up the muscles and the standard shuttles for 10 minutes, we set off running. I was told off on the last recovery session as I worked too hard. This time I was determined not to allow my heart rate to go over 75% of maximum.

On lap 4 of our field I saw a golfer shaping to hit a golf ball off the football fields around which we were running, back across the road and back to the "fairway" of the pitch'n'putt which backs on to our training area. Without any warning he swung his club and the ball arced through the air landing around 10 yards to our left. I wasn't happy and I gave him a piece of my mind as we came level with his position.

By the time we had finished (we had a 200m sprint in to close off the lap) I had burned off 653 calories with a 76% average heart rate (oops!).
