A nice new tie arrived from The FA in London. It seems that even after my middle of the road feedback and my own self inflicted criticism, The FA think I've got what it takes and I've been confirmed as a Registered Referee Instructor.
I am officially allowed to deliver the Basic Course for New Referees and subject to further satisfactory appraisal, I am eligible to go on the National Course. I believe successful completion of that course allows the candidate to deliver continuation training and lead the Basic Course. For now I want to find my feet at a basic level. I spoke to Deefor last night about next weekend's course and he assured me I'll be ok.
On mentioning a previous suggestion (not mine) that I could go on the National Course he said I should take the opportunity if offered. I'll see how things go after next weekend. I might crash and burn ... we'll see ...
