There's cold and there's freezing ...

... and just when you think it can't get any colder, it does!

An early phone call from the referee told me that this afternoon's game was off as the field was still frozen from Thursday. I knew that there was little chance of getting another game, particularly as I heard that one of the local councils had closed all their fields.

So not wanting to sit around at home or go shopping I contacted Jaybee to see if he needed anyone assessing. The answer was affirmative and I spent the afternoon freezing on a touchline noting down details of the referee's performance. I'll spend some of tomorrow evening and possibly Monday getting the report together and I'll mail it off on Tuesday.

I also got a mail from Jimmy2Bob who is leading tomorrow's Basic Course for New Referees who gave me some valuable feedback on my presentations for tomorrow. I'm nervous but growing in confidence. I guess it will be just like a game, keep it tight for the 1st 5 minutes then see how it runs ...
