Having lost two games already to Saturday's tweak I was determined not to lose another so decided to try out a little speed endurance work tonight.
Fat Lad and I ran 100m, walked 100m, ran 200m, walked 100m, ran 300m, walked 100m, ran 400m and then took a rest. I felt the tweak when we tried winding back down again from 400m to 100m so I stopped and just walked around to stay active. It's no surprise as the speed we were going were reasonably fast. 22s for 100m, 40s for 200m, 58s for 300m and 1m38s for 400m.
Fat Lad has his fitness test on Friday and after he completed the second 400m in 1m34s he is starting to believe that he can do it. He absolutely cinches 800m in 4m so all he has to do is put in one of the fast laps, string a couple of the 800m together and then limp over the last 500m in 2m20s. Chuckle Elder and I will be there encouraging him so he should get through.
Tonight I burned 333 calories, average hr 73% max 97%. We also got chased off the track by a local council representative as we hadn't paid to use it :-) Heading off now to put the leg on ice!
