After the exertions of the last few days I decided we'd have a recovery session before having another attempt at the fitness test distance tomorrow night.
I did a warm up lap in 3m37s and then with Fat Lad did another one. He did it in 2m58s and I managed 3m18s, so we were ready for our gentle jog. We decided to do 4 5m laps of our field which is about 680m around. The first 3 laps were each around 5m10s and when we hit half way on the 4th lap I said we should take the pace up. I started to run and went faster and faster and Fat Lad dropped off the pace. I made it through the last 300m or so in 44 seconds.
I'm not saying that I could do the same in the fitness test but I'm trying some new strategies tomorrow night and that might be one of them. Calories 695, hr max 95%, average 70%.
Before signing off, congrats to my friend Jane who has been appointed to officiate at a UEFA Women's tournament being held in Manchester in a couple of weeks. Very good news indeed!
