Supply League Assessing 2

The feedback I received on last weeks reports was good and I have been accepted on the league's panel of assessors. Due to timing, most of the games in February already have assessors allocated to them. So despite my intentions to make myself available as often as possible, my choice of closed dates means it has only been possible to allocate me to two games this month.

This week saw me return to the same ground I visited last week. The field of play was shrouded in fog instead of bright sunshine, but the game was able to go ahead. I witnessed a fairly physical encounter between the league's bottom team and one of the promotion hopefuls. There was plenty to see (in spite of the fog) and the club's hospitality in the form of two cups of strong, hot coffee meant sure I was a lot warmer than last Saturday.

Despite my plans to prepare my reports on the day after the game, being on duty tutoring on a Basic Course for New Referees at County HQ all day tomorrow means I've had to forego that luxury. So the reports have been prepared, dispatched to the three match officials and I hope they help them develop.

I'm out again next Saturday on another Supply League game and the following Saturday I have the privilege of assessing one of the County's many young rising stars in the form of my friend, H. I'm really looking forward to the game so when he looks after the 2035 FA Cup Final I can say I had a part in his development!
