Monday saw the first RA meeting of the new season and because of a change of date occasioned by the Bank Holiday, a change of date by the local Saturday league for their meeting and an administration error meant we ended up in the games room rather than our usual spot. It was the usual mixture of early season banter and it was good to see Martin, Andy and Bob in attendance. I think their attending meetings, even after reaching the upper echelons of the game, has contributed to the relative success our RA has had over the last few seasons - long may it continue!
Tuesday saw me wheeled out at the first Sunday League meeting of the season, in my new guise as Match Day Administrator and Fixture Secretary. I managed to say a few words warning teams that we would cram games in wherever possible to make sure we didn't have an end of season pile-up as we had done for the last two years but they and I know, we are very dependent on the weather being kind.
Wednesday saw me appearing at the first District FA meeting of the season and we made some of the cup draws. The others were postponed until the following day after a small printing error meant some of the clubs weren't included in the notes accompanying the draw. It was all resolved quickly and the draws were posted on Full Time within a matter of days.
And so now, it's on to my first closed dates of the season ... time for a rest!
