I attended some in-service training on Thursday which was for Supply League Assistants. I've been an Assistant on my allocated Supply League for three seasons and enjoyed most of what has happened.
The training was reasonably straight forward ... we were walked through what not to do when attending games before having a presentation on Law 11, Offside. Much of what was said was not new, although it was portrayed as new by the instructor. I saw the same training at a FAMOA day two years ago and have used it to good effect since. But as I said to a colleague before attending, I was hoping they would be teaching an old dog some new tricks, however how things turned out they only reminded the old dog of the good things he knew.
My Supply League's season starts in a little over 3 weeks but I have to wait a little longer to join the fray as I'm taking my family on holiday to Majorca in less than two weeks for a well deserved break.
The weight loss? Oh I'm down to 106.5Kg which is a loss of almost 6Kg since I started keeping a proper track of it. That's not bad at all and I'm pleased with the results. My VO2Max has increased from 24 to 41 through the course of my training. As long as I don't just sit around when I'm on holiday (and there's little chance of that with a mad 2 year old son in our little gang) then I should stay reasonably stable and come back refreshed and ready for the new season!
