Not a football related post this one.
I venture out into the garden and do some tinkering once every four years, well it sems like that's how long it takes for me to forget the horrors of getting blisters, dirty hands, dirt in the blisters, blisters on the blisters ... you get the picture?
I worked in the garden, clearing the top layer of soil and scrub grass that previously passed for a lawn, over the weekend. I was out there for over 5 hours on Saturday and about the same on Sunday. The horror didn't finish there as I had to transport all of the clearance to the local tip but they shut when I had only made 5 (FIVE) trips, leaving me with enough soil, rubble and stone for at least another two trips.
I ache from my shoulders to the soles of my feet, which is not good as I have a three day youth tournament coming up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The blisters prevent me from lifting any weights and my aching legs (inlcuding tweaked hamstring from too much digging) won't allow me to run.
I think I might sneak in a short session tomorrow evening to try and loosen up, then another session on Thursday to make sure I'm ready for Friday. Alternatively I could veg out all week claiming I preparing mentally ...
