Match reports from yesterday and today's games to follow but I wanted to note something and express concern before I got them done tomorrow or Tuesday.
I trained in the gym in the week before last and when I checked my heart rate monitor it said my heart rate peaked at 200 during my weights session. I had caught the chest strap when doing some upward rowing using weights on a pulley system and I wrote off the peak rate to a vibration of the strap.
I was a little concerned to note in the second half of yesterday's game between Carlton Athletic and Rothwell Athletic in the West Yorkshire League Cup that my heart rate apparently peaked at 210. This gives me a theoretical age of 10 years of age! I don't remember touching the chest monitor or the strap which holds it in place. Neither did I have any discomfort except when turning to run uphill into the strong wind, but my heart rate never felt high.
There's other possible explanations such as the strap virbating again or possibly the monitor is misreading because it needs a battery change. The worrying alternative is that I have a heart problem but that's just me being a hypochondriac!
