Euro 23 & 24

Spain became the second team to move into the Quarter Final stage by winning all three group games as they beat Greece 2-1. They had to come from a goal behind from an excellent header from around 12 yards out. Their equaliser by De La Red was a fantastic drive from 17 yards and I haven't seen their winner.

In the other group game Russia swept aside Sweden 2-0 to set up a Quarter Final tie with Holland, the home country of the Russian team coach, Guus Hiddink. I didn't see much of the game but it seemed to be well managed by the English crew of officials, so hopefully they might be involved in the latter stages of the competition. Meanwhile Spain will face Italy which vies with Germany versus Portugal for tie of the round.
