E-mailzzz

Two arrived while I was away from home visiting my in-laws over the weekend. I had closed Saturday and gave backword on my Sunday appointment so we could get some time away from football before the chaos of the last 6 weeks of the season kicks in. I already have 3 midweek appointments on top of the usual 2 at weekends, so it's going to get busy when my Saturday League issue their midweek appointments.

Having Saturday off gave me and Mrs Baldy (aka Specks) the chance to go out around the town in which her parents live. We met up with her brother and a good night was had by all. I nearly didn't make it out in one piece though (if you've followed my Tweets below, you'll know why). I managed to gash both hands and at one point had blood dripping off my right hand after losing an argument with a broken radio aerial. I recovered sufficiently to endure a long night of dancing, drinking and finished with a yummy burger and fries from a KFC look-a-like shop!

My two e-mails were from Deefor in his capacity as Secretary of the District FA. The first confirmed my appointment as referee for one of the semi-finals of the District Sunday Cup and advised my Assistants who are old friends. I also have a 4th official who is another old friend and colleague. I'm sure we'll have a good day out.

The second e-mail was more of a surprise and advised that was the District FA Council Member in Charge at the U14 District Cup Final which is being played one month today. The MiC looks after a lot of the administration such as ensuring admission fees are paid by spectators, car parks are organised/monitored and regulations regarding behaviour in the technical areas are observed (in support of the 4th official). I'm honoured to have been given the responsibility and I'll need to read up on my duties before the big day!
