I've been struggling with the same wheezy cough for over 4 weeks now, so this morning on spec I went to see the Doctor.
I talked him through my symptoms and mentioned the palpitations experienced during the Leeds United Ladies and Liverpool Ladies game. They had re-surfaced on Saturday at Ripon, but I put this down to fatigue and the bad weather. He listened carefully, taking in my description of the symptoms and the other complaints I had come to see him about (my locking knee for one). He wanted to concentrate on the palpitations and wheezy cough.
So now I have an inhaler which I have to use whenever I feel wheezy, especially just before I train and just before a game. I also have an appointment with the District Nurse (no screens required) for a blood test which is going to be analysed for any liver issues, my cholestrol count and some other stuff I don't recognise on the notes I've been given. The doctor's confident that the tests will not identify anything, especially after his blood pressure test revealed only a slightly elevated level, despite my worries about the cough.
I'm not too concerned but after the health scare suffered by the Secretary of the local RA recently, I have some reservations about what the tests will reveal!
