Barbecue

Been to a barbecue this afternoon with the Fat Lad. One of the other attendees mentioned that someone in authority has reservations about this blog on the basis that it's a little near the knuckle.

I can understand this viewpoint and certainly if I was feeling hyper-sensitive and was a player representing one of the teams I mention in my posts, then I might take umbrage at some of my comments regarding some of the challenges I see/actions I have to take. The Fat Lad seemed more aggrieved than me. My response was to seek the advice of a senior colleague who has always provided sound and straight forward comments in the past.

Meanwhile my medical situation seemed to have improved this morning however I spent a fair amount of time on my feet this afternoon and even with the benefit of a few beers and vodkas, on top of the painkillers, I am still experiencing some discomfort. I should be ok for my (sedentary) workday tomorrow, however tomorrow's training session seems to be a no-no.

As for the barbecue, it was nice to share, against our wives' wishes, some good old fashioned chat about football and refereeing with some friends and colleagues. I still think that Mick's "Chop the Log" competition was a better bet than party games ;-)
