Training VII

As our teacher and leader, Chuckle Elder, had skipped class to go see The Proclaimers, the naughty children disobeyed his instructions and instead of doing another Speed Endurance session, we decided to go back to our very first lesson to see how much progress we had made. One pupil got a gold star and another got a misconduct report!

First of all the tale of what we did ... we had the usual start of one lap followed by a slightly mixed up version of our usual shuttles. We then tried the good old fashioned 12 minute run followed by a 10 minute rest and another 12 minute run. So who earned the gold star? Well that has to go to Fat Lad. If our estimate of a lap at 750m is correct, then he probably managed the required fitness test distance of 2500m in the 12 minutes time allowed. The misconduct report goes to Zico for giving me a patronizing pat on the back after our first 12 minute when I ran around 1800m. I believe that's around 300m further than when I gave this a first go around three weeks ago.

I pulled her leg about it for a while then when I thought she was getting genuinely concerned that she'd upset me, I put her out of her misery. On the second run I went around 200m further so I am probably 500m short but on both occasions I ran all the way through so I've made progress. Special mention to Titfer who also put in the laps and managed somewhere around 2200m on his first run and slightly less on his second. Well done to all. The second Quarter Final of Euro 2008 has just finished 0-0 after 90 minutes so Extra Time and if necessary, kicks from the penalty mark to get a result!
