E-mail&Telephone>>>>Snail Mail

E-mail received tonight advises of two District Cup appointments. Having closed the date for the Saturday Cup, it was good to receive an appointment for the Sunday Cup and the U14 Cup which is in its inaugural season.

I also received a call this afternoon from Mr C who asked if I am still available for Sunday afternoon appointments for the local Women's Premier League Reserve side. He told me that I'll be needed for either one of the first two Sundays in September. I expressed a preference for the second Sunday. He then passed the phone across to Mr Steve, the County RDO, who asked if I would be interested in helping him with a presentation at a Supply League clubhouse on Thursday.

It's to be based on the practical application of the Laws and he tells me it's intended as preparation for the Instructor's Course in October for which I have been nominated.

The snail mail brought me confirmation of Saturday's fixture. It also told me that my friend Phil, a fellow referee and Secretary of the home side, will not be at the game on Saturday as he is on holiday. I like Phil, he's a really grounded bloke and although we only see each other twice a year at most, we get on well.

The second and third pieces of snail mail brought me an appointment for a follow up on the hospital tests I had after my palpitations earlier in the season and a request from my doctor to discuss the results of the hospital tests. It's pretty obvious that I haven't gotten anything wrong with me as the hospital appointment is almost a month later than previously advised by the consultant and the doctor's appointment should have been at least a month ago.

Also since then, in case, you haven't noticed, I have trained a little bit and gotten a lot fitter :-)
