I've been helping at a Youth Tournament today and expect to be there tomorrow and Sunday. Every year no matter how much cream I slap on I still get burnt. This year they are using orange balls on the oldest age group and my head will probably resemble one by the end of the games on Sunday if today's weather continues!
There's only a couple of teams from outside England which is a disappointment. In the past I have refereed Canadian, American, Italian, Irish and Polish teams in this tournament and it's been a challenge to bridge the occasional language barrier which has cropped up. This year unless I look after Bielska-Biala from Poland, that shouldn't be a problem. Total time onfield just over 3.5 hours, total calories burnt just over 3050! Heart rate max over the day 90% and average around 65%.
