A Supply league line and a competitive fixture that ended all square at 2-2.
I met the other Assistant close to my home and when we got lost on the way to the ground I found why he had been keen on picking me up ... he didn't know exactly where he was going either! We arrived only a minute later than planned despite the roadworks which held us up and we met the referee and assessor who were already there.
I had little to do in the first half with the exception of twist my knee which left me in pain every time I turned to run up the line. I also gave a free kick for a foul challenge on the referee's blind side and the response for the offending player earned him the game's first caution.
The cautions flowed freely (disappointing to note that many were for verbal dissent) as the referee went up through the steps with a number of players. In the end he cautioned 5 and dismissed one (for receiving two cautions in the same game). The dismissed player started walking before the red card was shown and even apologised to the referee for the challenge which caused his second caution.
The game finished soon afterwards and I had burned off 1272 calories with a 68% average and 90% max heart rate. Back home the ice was applied to the twisted knee and when I got up this morning, it seemed a little easier.
