Having battled through the cold for last week, the slightest hint of rain and Fat Lad and I decided we would wimp out of training. It didn't help that I was recovering from a party at my mum's (she has a New Year's party on the 2nd Sunday in January!!!) and that his car had just failed it's MOT.
So turned out tonight looking like the walking wounded. I've had a calf tweak for a few days after trundling around a heavy field in Sunday's game and he was complaining about aching ankles. We took it easy tonight with 10 minutes slow paced running followed by a 5 minute rest and then another 10 minutes slow paced running although we did speed up for the last lap and a half.
A gentle warmdown of two laps mixed jogging/walking, some stretches and then home. Calories 773, average hr 75% and max hr 99%. On the heart rate, I struggled to get mine to move up tonight and it came down very fast too. It might have been something to do with my improved fitness but it also might have been the excessive amounts of coffee (4 a day) I'm drinking to prevent snacking . It might also be that I collected my prescription for my medication and took 3 days dose in one fell swoop. I'll not do it again as I felt I wasn't working hard enough.
I have been busy off the track and field though as I managed to upload all the players registered to play in our local Sunday League on to the FA's Full Time web service. Player statistics for appearances, goals and suspensions can now be input alongside fixtures, referee appointments, results and league tables. Team's will also soon be able to text their scores through, as well as receive fixtures/match official appointments by e-mail. The technology is available for league administration to be run by a one man band - amazing!
