Game 69

This was a relatively easy runout for a game where neither team had anything to play for but pride (again). The only downside was that it has a vicious hill and it was hard work sprinting up it to try to keep pace with play at times.

Carl the referee did a good job but missed a few things which might cost him a few assessors marks from David F. I had little to do and in fact it took 12 minutes before I even lifted my flag. Most of the play seemed to be compressed into the other side of the field and Reg seemed to have a lot more to do than me.

Two goals in the second half for the home team matched the number of cautions their players received and the away team got a consolation goal with 7 minutes to play. I gave a couple of close offside decisions and one, maybe two, free kicks to support Carl.

In the end, this was a game that was easy to control and I was more in danger from toddlers on the touchline running on to retrieve their football and the cricket game being played on the adjacent field, than I was from any physical exertion or dissent form players.
