I was invited to the County FA's School of Excellence to join in training tonight and I couldn't turn down the invite, so Fat Lad picked me up at 6.30 and with some trepidation I strolled out at County HQ ready for a real work-out.
As things transpired, the session was pretty light but still demanding. We took 3 minutes per station. Station 1 was a run to some ladders where we completed a "quick feet" exercise before sprinting 10 yards and then walking back to the start.
Station 2 was a conditioning station where we spent 1 minute doing sit-ups, a second doing press-ups and the last doing squats. The last station was a simple 20-25m sprint followed by a 15m walk, then repeat until we had completed 3 minutes.
We had a few minutes rest and then ran through the whole cycle again, this time a little quicker. The first set I had hit a max of 93%, on the second I hit 95% so it obviously worked!!! In total I think I burned around 600 calories and then headed inside for a presentation by Alan Kaye. A very engaging speaker and now it's time for bed after helping Arthur celebrate his 250th anniversary
