Through a combination of Facebook, text and gossip I have found out about 4 friends getting appointments to County Cup Finals at the end of the season.
Their appointments cover the full range of roles from referee to assistant and fourth official. I've worked with all but one of them, assessed one of them this season and helped another with his development as an assessor. So well done to Colin, Aaron, James and Peter - good work boys!
On my own development, it was nice to get a phone call on Wednesday from the referee I assessed on Tuesday night. They had just read their assessment and wanted to say thank you for being so constructive in my report. I'm pleased to hear that as it was hard work doing the assessment (because of the weather) and writing the report (just after my 5 year old son's birthday party!).
I'm heading out to Huddersfield tomorrow afternoon to watch a 5-4 candidate and on Sunday morning, a short trip sees me watching a 7-6 candidate. Then on Monday it's RA meeting time with Ted (one of my mentors) appearing as guest speaker.
