The first of the Sunday league semi finals passed off without too much incident apart from I gave myself a sore arm from pumping up 4 match balls from flat.
The weekend saw me transporting furniture and junk around West Yorkshire and between home and my in-laws in Bedford. It was almost a relief to get back to work on Monday. Monday saw me visit David at home as he handed over the reins of the District FA to me. I'm acting as caretaker while he is away on holiday but this period covers a period of intense administrative activity sorting out cup semi finals and all that go with them. A long trip with work for a brief meeting on Wednesday was followed up with the second of our Sunday league semi finals.
One of the assistants dropped out at short notice and I stepped into the breach. it was just my luck that the game went to extra time on a freezing cold night but we got a winner. the second of the lower division semi finals is played next week and I'll be back to strictly collar and tie for that game.
Tomorrow I'm heading off to somewhere near Jcn 29 on the M1 for a Supply League assessment and Sunday sees me take in another promotion candidate. It's the third attempt at watching this referee, the two previous occasions being wiped out by the weather. Fingers crossed ...
