Jane's Final Day

The West Riding's own Jane Simms was at Notts Forest's City Ground on Mon 3rd May as one of the four officials for the FA Women's Cup Final

Halifax based Jane was assistant referee for one of the most exciting finale's ever seen at a Women's Cup Final.

With 118 minutes on the clock, Everton and Arsenal appeared to be heading for a penalty shoot-out, but then substitute Brooke Chaplen threaded a ball into the Gunners box which Natasha Dowie clipped over Emma Byrne into the back of the net to give Mo Marley's Everton a dramatic winner and put their name on the Cup for the first time since 1989 and break Arsenal's grip on the FA Cup which they have held for the last four years.
