Season kicks off

I have my first three assessment appointments for the season and I have the pleasure of watching two referees I've assessed before.

Both gave a decent account of themselves last time and I'm sure they'll have developed in the intervening period. I also have the opportunity to watch a referee who was almost promoted to the next level at the end of last season.

To add to the fun I have James P and Henry, who have previously appeared in this blog as Titfer and Snails respectively, operating as assistants to the referees I am assessing in games 2 and 3.

Not all of the fixtures were covered in the initial appointments, so I've offered my services on a midweek game 2 days after my birthday.

Finally, the last piece of news, until Thursday's training session, is the announcement of the demise of my beard. It has survived the World Cup, Glastonbury and a night out around the pubs and clubs of Bedford, but the time has come to smarten myself up for the start of the season, so I shaved it off before work today!!!
