Run fatboy run

Not the Simon Pegg film of the same name, just me reporting in on tonight's little effort in the gym. Yes I know I said I wouldn't report every session but this one was quite good.

Having run for the required time on the treadmill a couple of weeks ago, tonight I ran the required distance, well 2510m. The only problem was that it took me 14m28s which is 2m28s outside the allowed time and it's tougher running on the track than it is running on a treadmill.

The upside is that I know I can run that far and for longer than I need to. I just need to begin upping the speed. I'm hoping to run every lunchtime for 15 minutes over the next few weeks. This avoids the need to train after work which to be honest is becoming a bind. It also means that I should get fitter faster.

I'm going to try increasing the speed I run at by 0.1km/h each time I manage to run for 15 minutes. If I don't complete the time, then I don't up the speed, simple as! I'm hoping that will mean an increase of at least 0.3km/h per week. That would mean that by the end of January I could be up to around 13km/h. The next step would be to get out on the track for 4/5 weeks to make sure I can get at least 2.2Km completed in the time, then I'm relying on adrenaline to get me through.

I also did 15 minutes on the cross trainer at level 14 and 10 minutes on the bike as a warm down at level 6. All in all 642 calories burnt!
